Knee- and Hip- Joint Replacement

Image Guided Surgery (IGS)

igs

We use navigation (image guided surgery - IGS) as a safe and accurate way of computer-assisted surgery (CAS) in knee replacements and hip resurfacing. The navigation system paves the way for less invasive operative philosophy.

In much the same way as a satellite is used to guide motorists with the GPS system, we are able to use image guided surgery to give us unparalleled accuracy when operating on a joint.
The navigation system creates a precise image of the leg axes and the knee joint surface. This is achieved by an infrared camera tracking the position of reflective spheres connected to the leg and to surgical instruments (Ci-System).
